MEDIUM: ink and wash on Hotel Majestic, Paris headed paper.

SIZE: 10½ x 7in. (26.67 x 17.78cm).

FRAMED SIZE: 19.50 x 15.50in. (49.53 x 39.37cm).

CONDITION: Horizontal fold visible on close inspection. Otherwise very good condition.

The Leprechaun by Sir William Orpen (self-portrait).

Ink on Screebe Lodge, Maam Crossroads via Galway, headed paper.

Inscription: “My dear Mary, this is to hope you are well and to tell you that this afternoon I took a walk and found this funny little man who is called “The Leprechaun”, he spends his time in making shoes for the fairies and one can often hear him knocking in the nails but can very seldom get to see him. So Father was very lucky, he sent his love to Mary and Christine and your mother, Dad.”

Estimate: €1000 – €1500.

SIZE: 8¾ x 6¾in. (22.23 x 17.15cm).

FRAMED SIZE: 15.50 x 13.50in. (39.37 x 34.29cm).

CONDITION: Horizontal fold visible. Staining spot visible centre left. Otherwise very good condition.

CONDITION: Some creasing visible, most notably lower right. Otherwise very good condition.
