Sir William Orpen painted several self-portraits where he depicted himself as the French painter – Jean Baptiste Siméon Chardin (1699 – 1779) whom he greatly admired. Including ‘Still Life-Reflections‘ (1904) which is part of the Mary & Ben Dunne art collection for sale. Viewing at Gormleys Dublin – 27 Frederick St. South,
Dublin D02 EP03 from 8th – 24th September 2022 and then to their Belfast showroom – 471 Lisburn Road,
Belfast BT9 7EZ from 26th September – 10th October 2022.
